Fred Bourland has been working to develop new cotton varieties for over 50 years. In that time, he has released more than 100 improved cotton varieties and germplasm lines adapted to Arkansas.

Fred says his long-term goal has been to develop tools to help sustain the cotton industry and ultimately, contribute to a sustainable and dependable food and fiber production system.
