Registration for the event is required. No cost to attend.

Join us for the Northwest Arkansas Small Ruminants Field Day on October 28, 2023! This event offers educational sessions from the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture on sustainably raising sheep and goats. Registration for the free event begins at 8:30 a.m. with coffee and pastries followed by a “farm walk and talk.” Field tours and presentations will include hands-on opportunities and demonstrations. Stick around until the end of the event for a free lunch.

The field day is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program’s Soil for Water project.

 

Learning sessions will include the following topics: 

  • Forage and nutrition 
  • Grazing strategies 
  • Reproduction and flock management 
  • Parasite identification and control 
  • Practical, on-farm necropsy
