In conjunction with the Arkansas Blackberry Growers Association, we are pleased to announce the 2024 Blackberry Field Tour, coming to the Fruit Research Station on June 12th, 2024. Registration opens at 1:00 pm, featuring blackberry tasting and a fruit disorder demonstration. The program officially kicks off at 1:30 pm with welcome remarks, special guest acknowledgments, and the announcement of ‘Arkansas Blackberry Month.’
From 2:00-3:00 p.m., our experts will share guidance for on-farm fruit processing and give an update on blackberry promotional materials. The field tour from 3:00-5:00 pm includes a drone demonstration, herbicide symptomology identification, fertility management, insect pest insights, and a tour of advanced blackberry selections. The day concludes with a dinner at 5:00 pm. Producers, researchers, and blackberry enthusiasts are all encouraged to attend.
Special thanks to the Arkansas Department of Agriculture for their support of blackberry research through the Specialty Crop Block Program, which provided support for this event.
