FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Among millions of researchers in the world, 14 faculty members with the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station were recognized as top-cited scientists by a recent annual ranking.
Calculated by Stanford University professor of medicine John P.A. Ioannidis using Elsevier’s Scopus, the ranking calculates how often a researcher’s work is cited by their colleagues using a database of scientific citations in high-quality peer-reviewed academic journals. Researchers included on the list are either among the top 100,000 or in the top second percentile in their subfield.
The annual list recognizes researchers with the most citations over the last calendar year and those who have been most cited since 1996.
“The University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture is home to exceptional scientists whose work has a meaningful impact around the world,” said Jean-François Meullenet, senior associate vice president for agriculture-research and director of the experiment station. “Congratulations to all who earned a place on this year’s list.
“We are also fortunate to have a strong cohort of emerging researchers who, I’m confident, will join these ranks in the years ahead. It’s inspiring to see the quality and global impact of the food and agricultural research taking place in our state,” he said.
The experiment station is the research arm of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture. Faculty from the department of biological and agricultural engineering that are listed below are also part of the College of Engineering at the University of Arkansas. Faculty from other departments listed below are also part of the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences.
