Yan Huang has always been curious about animal development. Ever since he was a kid, he’s had a love and passion for animals. He wants to shed light on the complex interplay between maternal nutrition, muscle growth and the long-term health of offspring.

Yan Huang is an assistant professor of animal science for the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station, the research arm of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture. He also teaches the next generation of scientists through Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences.

He aims to increase meat production from livestock animals so that more people can access high-quality protein.
